FINE ARTS AT THE KROC

PERFORMING AND CREATIVE ARTS EXPERIENCES FOR EVERYONE

Among the things that set the Kroc Community Center apart from other community centers is a commitment to fostering the arts. We offer opportunities for learning and creative development and expression for all members of the community, regardless of age, experience and socioeconomic means.

THE KROC’S ALL-ENCOMPASSING ARTS DEPARTMENT:

Preschoolers and youth can experience a variety of dance styles through our studio dance program. These comprehensive 7-month or 3-month dance programs help students develop not just their dance skills, but a love for performing, as the dance season culminates in a recital performance in the spring.

    • Acceptable Attire for any non-performance dance class
      • FEET:  Ballet, Tap or clean tennis shoes
        • Ballet slippers for Ballet classes
        • Tap shoes for Tap classes
        • Clean tennis shoes acceptable for Hip-Hop classes
        • Ballet slippers or clean tennis shoes for Creative Movement
      • LEGS:  Tights, Leggings, Joggers, looser-fit cloth shorts
        • Tights
          • Tights can be worn for all classes
          • Tights are worn over undergarments
          • Tights can be worn under OR over leotards depending on student preference
          • Tights can also be worn under looser fitting cloth shorts
      • Leggings can be worn for all classes
        • Leggings are to be form fitting
        • Leggings should be long enough to cover knees
      • Joggers
        • Joggers can be worn for Hip-Hop classes only
            • Joggers (any loose fitting pants) should be long enough to cover knees
      • Loose-fit Shorts can be worn for all classes
        • Must have tights or leggings on underneath that cover knees
      • No Jeans
      • TORSOS:  Leotards or form fitting shirts
        • Leotards
          • Leotards can be worn for all classes
          • Leotards are to be worn over undergarments
          • Leotards can be worn either under OR over tights
          • Leotards can be worn under leggings, joggers or loose-fit shorts as well
        • Form Fitting Shirts can be worn for all classes
          • Any top that is form fitting and allows for unrestricted movement is acceptable
          • Please no shirts with hoods.
      • HAIR:  Out of face and off of shoulders. (Ponytail or Bun)

 

Youth and adults can explore their love of music by taking private guitar, piano, brass or voice lessons and group classes.

The Kroc Center’s mission is to be a community resource that is not only a state-of-the-art facility for fitness, family, education, the arts and more, but also a place where underprivileged families and children can receive the same educational and developmental opportunities available to families with means.

  • This form does not guarantee lesson availability. Some of our teachers only have specific availability or may not have openings. Someone will be in contact with you in the next few days.
  • Each lesson will last 30 minutes.
  • Parents/guardians of private lesson participants are welcome to wait outside the fine arts room during the lesson.
  • Private lessons will work towards playing in our recital in May.
  • Lessons are sold in 4 or 8 lesson packages.
  • Payment in full is due prior to the first lesson scheduled by the fine arts specialist
  • Please be on time for your scheduled lesson.
  • We require 24 hour notice for all cancellations/rescheduling
  • Lessons must be  completed within six months of purchase.
  • If you finish your package of lessons we will hold your time slot for one week. If you do not purchase another package we will consider your lessons canceled and the time slot will go to another student.
